Having worked across traditional banking and private equity roles, we bring “blue chip” experience coupled with humility and empathy for what it takes to build a business

Prateek grew up with a family business in healthcare that his family owned for over two decades and has spent his professional career working with education, workforce development, and technology companies. In the last fifteen years, Prateek has worked as a banker and private equity investor across the U.S. and Asia. Most recently, Prateek was a private equity investor at University Ventures, a fund with over $300M under mgmt where he served on the board of five companies. Prior to UV, he was an investment banker at Wells Fargo Securities covering Technology and Education companies, and also previously worked at Laureate, a KKR holding company with $4B in assets.

John is an education-focused entrepreneur who loves building companies. He was most recently the co-founder and CEO at Next Step Test Preparation, which grew from a bootstrapped two-person tutoring operation to a national leader in high-stakes exam preparation in the health sciences and was acquired by private equity in 2018. John is adept at recruiting great teams and setting them up for success with strategic clarity, operational excellence, and a focus on results. John also serves on the board of Victory Lap and JB Training Solutions. John has a Masters in Political Theory from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in International Relations from Michigan State University.

Ronald Schlosser is an accomplished global CEO and business leader. He has consistently delivered innovation and performance improvement, resulting in a progressive history of achieving business goals. Ron served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Haights Cross Communications (HCC), a premier educational and library information company. Ron was a Senior Advisor to Providence Equity Partners and Chairman of several education and information services portfolio companies, including Jones & Bartlett, Assessment Technologies Institute, Edline, and Survey Sampling International.

Rina is the CEO of 280 Group. She began her career at McKinsey & Company as an analyst on the credit portfolio team, offering trading recommendations to hedge against credit and interest rate exposure. She then joined MetLife’s Global Leadership Development Program, focusing on employee recognition programs and removing roadblocks to support intrapreneurship in the Latin America Office of Innovation. Rina joined the 280 Group with a focus on bringing transformative change to organizations by arming product people with the right tools and skills to do great product management. Her job running the company at the 280 Group is made easy with an amazing team aligned on continuous learning and development and determined to go above and beyond to always delight their clients.

Rina is a member of the Association of International Product Marketing and Management. She received a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Economics and European Studies from Amherst College, and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Fahim Muscatwalla runs his own family office and has over 15 years of investment experience in private equity and investment banking. He was previously a Managing Director at The Abraaj Group, a leading private equity firm with $10 billion under management, investing across the broader consumer segment primarily in emerging markets. Fahim has led several buyout deals in the education, healthcare and food & beverage segment at Abraaj, managing the entire transaction process from inception until realizing a successful exit.? More recently, Fahim has advised on a couple of leading transactions in the education space including advising Study World on the buyout of Middlesex University and helping a U.S.-based strategic firm to acquire a global university group based in Australia. Mr. Muscatwalla began his career with Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. where he was a part of the investment banking team in New York and focused primarily on healthcare transactions. During his tenure at Bear Stearns, he worked on numerous equity and M&A transactions in the pharmaceutical space. Mr. Muscatwalla is based in Doha, Qatar, and has earned his Bachelor of Science in business from Indiana University, Bloomington.
